It will remove red wine stains and may also be effective with the following stains (unless a stain has been set with other methods of removal):

• other red fruit juice stains, such as beet, red smoothies
• blood
  
• tomato sauce
• ketchup
• blueberry
• cherry
• strawberry
• grease
• coffee
• chocolate and other food stains
• pen ink
• red medicine stains
• vomit
• pet stains
• fresh stains and old stains

It may remove:

• stains you have first tried salt, white wine, vinegar or other cleaners on and the stain is still there. (Just cross your fingers first!)

It may be used on:

• carpet
• area rugs as well as orientals and sheepskin
• upholstery
• clothing
• items you have already washed
• most fabric types such as cotton and rayon

It is almost odorless (citrus scent) and only a small amount is needed for each use.

On heavy stains, better performance is achieved with a few applications, rather than a single one.

WINE AWAY RED WINE STAIN REMOVER!

WHAT IS IT MADE OF?

• Wine Away Red Wine Stain Remover is made from fruit and vegetable extracts and has a fresh citrus scent.
• Wine Away is safe to use around children and pets. It is nonflammable, biodegradable, and contains no phosphates or bleach.
• Shake the container lightly and test in an inconspicuous area before using because an item could possibly be incompatible.
• Wine Away is manufactured by Evergreen Labs, 4 West Rees Ave., Walla Walla, WA 99362.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

• On most items, you can simply spray the Wine Away Red Wine Stain Remover directly on the stain. The stain may turn a greenish/purple around the edges or slightly gray. Do not panic! If this is an item that can be washed in the washing machine, do so right after the application of Wine Away. The best results with Wine Away happen with items that can be washed in a washing machine.
• If possible, sop up as much of the spill as soon as you can before applying the Wine Away.
• If a single application does not provide results, use a few applications of Wine Away.
• If a grayish stain remains, it is possible that, with time, it may fade completely away. If this is on a piece of upholstery or a carpet or rug, an over the counter rug/upholstery cleaner, used judiciously, may be able to remove it.
• Use cold water, especially with blood stains.
• Keep a bottle in the laundry area for stain removal. Just spray and let it sit, the longer the better, before washing. If an additional treatment is needed after the wash, make sure to take the item out of the washer and do not put it into the dryer until it has been treated and washed again.

SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

NEW STAINS

FABRIC/CLOTHING:

Saturate the stain with Wine Away. Let penetrate for 1-3 minutes. Launder or dry clean according to manufacturer's instructions. Always check the garment prior to drying. Additional applications may be needed.

If stain turns a bluish color, treat the stain with Wine Away and laundry pre-wash. Then launder as directed.

CARPET/AREA RUGS/ UPHOLSTERY:

Absorb as much of the excess stain as possible. Saturate the stain with Wine Away. Let sit for 1-5 minutes. Blot the area until the stain disappears.

NOTE: The best way to blot a stain on these fibers is to take your thumb and place it in a rag or paper towel and push a finger into the stain and turn it clockwise. Try not to 'rub' the stain as you may cause fraying of the fibers.

Follow with a damp rag to remove any residue.

OLD STAINS

Spray Wine Away on the stain. Wait and blot as above! Let the treated area dry. Follow with a damp rag to remove any excess.

If the stain has turned a bluish color, this may be normal for some stains. Treat again with Wine Away.

USED OTHER CLEANERS FIRST

If you have tried salt, white wine, vinegar, and other cleaners but the stain is still there, Wine Away Red Wine Stain Remover may still work. Just cross your fingers (because you may have set the stain) and try the following:

FABRIC/CLOTHING:

Spray with Wine Away. Let stand for 15 minutes. Repeat and follow with a laundry pre-wash and launder as usual.

Check the stained area before drying. If the stain remains, repeat the process.

CARPET/UPHOLSTERY:

Saturate the stain with Wine Away. Let Wine Away penetrate the fibers for 20-30 minutes. Then blot the stain as above. Let the treated area DRY. If the stain remains, repeat the process. Sometimes allowing the Wine Away to dry may work better.

ORIENTAL RUG:

Wine Away will work on your oriental rug. Wine Away is a water-based cleaner but some carpet/upholstery require 'solvent-based' cleaners. Test in an inconspicuous area before using.

BLOOD

FRESH BLOOD:

Apply Wine Away as directed above for new stains.

OLD BLOOD: 

Apply Wine Away as directed above for old stains. It may take repeated applications. 

NOTE: If the stain is on clothes, spray with Wine Away. Let the treated area dry. Repeat two more times, then apply laundry pre-wash and launder as usual.

IF YOU DRIED A GARMENT BEFORE YOU NOTICED THE STAIN...

Unfortunately, the stain may be set in.

• Saturate the stain with Wine Away. Let the garment dry. Repeat. Spray the stained area with Wine Away and laundry pre-wash and then launder.
• You may try adding Wine Away to the wash cycle to give it an added boost.
• Inspect the garment before drying. If the stain remains, repeat the entire process from the beginning. 
• Keep trying, it will probably work!
