Our History

ABC Services of Ithaca, Inc., now known as ABC Oriental Rug & Carpet Cleaning Co., has been family-owned and operated in Ithaca and the Finger Lakes region for almost 50 years. Our company is a reflection of our family name and pride.

Our Staff

Extensive training and certification, combined with over 90 years of collective experience, ensures our staff is highly proficient in area, oriental, and specialty rug cleaning and repair, as well as wall-to-wall carpet, tile and grout, and upholstery cleaning.

Our technicians and staff receive continuous training, both in-house and through our participation in a large network of professional cleaning organizations. This enables us to stay abreast of the latest technological advances in our industry.

Our Guarantee

ABC Oriental Rug & Carpet Cleaning Co. guarantees all work done, whether the services are provided at our plant or at the customer's home or business.

We will, at all times, exercise the utmost care in the handling and cleaning of rugs, carpet, tile and grout, and upholstered furniture. Customers are encouraged to report to our office any dissatisfaction or problem concerning their cleaning as soon as possible after the cleaning is completed.

Please note we cannot anticipate unforeseen problems that may result from soil resistant treatments and conditions applied by the manufacturer and/or by the customer. The same applies to reactions from chemicals applied by other cleaning companies and/or householders from previous cleanings.

ASCR

Ken Adams, owner of ABC, was elected and served as President and Chairman of the Board of ASCR, the International Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration, in 2004 and 2005 and continued in his role as Past president to promote the high standards of this organization. This organization is now known as RIA (Restoration Industry Association).

ARCS

In 2010, Ken Adams was a founding member of ARCS, the Association of Rug Care Specialists, a new professional organization intended to serve the specific needs of area and oriental rug cleaners and repair specialists. In addition to Ken, founding members include owners and managers of some of the oldest and most prestigious rug cleaning companies in the world.

THE WOOLS of NEW ZEALAND

This enterprise is an international company that provides a commercial range of branding, technology, and design services to the carpet and rug industry for both producers and users of New Zealand wool.

ABC Oriental Rug & Carpet Cleaning Co. is listed as a Certified Wool Care Specialist by The Wools of New Zealand.
